A Little Bit About Me

A Crappy Day (Literally and Figuratively)

I’m writing this post more as a way for myself to vent than for it actually being of use to anyone because I don’t really share any advice on how to change any of the situations I was in. So anyway, this morning was quite rough. I was on my way home which is about an hour and a half drive from where I was. When I first got into the truck this morning after driving for about twenty minutes to drop my boyfriend off where he was working he pointed out that the front passenger tire was low on air so I stopped at the closest gas station and put some air in it, then went on my merry little way home.

After driving for about twenty five minutes the tire blew out. I called my boyfriend and he told me what I pretty much figured I was going to have to do, call AAA. I called the number, described my location to them the best I could and then waited. After a few minutes the tow truck driver called and told me he would be there in about 40 minutes. I went back to listening to my favorite podcast (I Seem Fun: The Diary of Jen Kirkman Podcast, in case you were wondering) while I waited.

In the side view mirror I see the tow truck and hop out while the guy gets the truck on the back and then I hop into the big tow truck. He drove me to the nearest Walmart which is where I was going to get a new tire, upon arriving we see multiple cars, he asks the kid working there how long the wait was and the response was four hours! Not ideal in any situation but really not ideal when you have a sick puppy with you. This seems like the time to tell you that this whole time I have an 8 week old puppy with me (the one from the picture on my first post). This poor little guy had to ride and sit and wait with me through all of this. The sick I mentioned is where the literally crappy part comes in, he was having issues going to the bathroom all morning and whenever he tried all that would come out was basically liquid (sorry if that’s TMI but it is what it is). So while sitting in the tow truck I have this poor little guy on my lap and unfortunately also a little bit of crap on my sweatshirt and jeans from him.

Now back to the four hour wait, that was just not going to work I had to get my puppy home where he could roam freely around the yard and drink lots of water to help him get things moving again. So the tow truck driver looks up other tire/car places near by and finds one, he then calls them for me to see if they have the tire I need in stock, they do not but they can order it and it will be there on Monday, now if I can’t wait four hours I am certainly not waiting over twenty four, so that was a thanks but no thanks. Not only did the puppy need to get home I did as well I had to shower and wash my crap covered clothing. So the driver found another tire place and they had multiple tires (the multiple is important) in stock and the wait would be less than an hour! This was great and the tow truck guy was not going to charge me the little bit extra it would’ve been for taking me there from Walmart. I would like to take this time to point out that this guy was super helpful and very nice for calling all the places and probably taking pity on the crap covered girl for not charging me extra. I get to the other tire place and as the truck is being taken off the back the guy pointed out to me that the other front tire should be replaced as well (that’s where the multiple comes in). Now instead of just one tire I need two and still have a sick puppy.

So after waiting probably twenty to thirty minutes the guys at the tire shop get the new tires on the truck and I can get on my way home. So one problem solved and another still going on. Now also what I have not mentioned was that this whole time I am crying (on and off, I did not let anyone but my puppy see me cry) and texting my poor boyfriend at work about everything that’s going on and even though I’m sure he was super busy he still answered my texts with reassuring messages and called me as I was on my way home to try and make me feel better. He sort of succeeded. I was still a little stressed but hearing his voice helped me (sorry for the schmaltz). I got home and got the puppy to drink some water and walk around outside. He is now doing better, currently napping by my feet while the other dog (featured in the picture on my first post as well) is napping by my side. He has been able to go to the bathroom and is no longer crying in pain when he tries, which was a big reason I was crying. I cannot see any one else cry without doing so myself, especially when there is nothing I can do to help them.

So although it was a crappy morning, with the two dogs by my side and my boyfriend almost done with work and being able to snuggle up with him later the day has turned quite nice. The sun is out and it’s a comfortable temperature and I have taken a nap today so for anyone who may read this, thanks for reading my venting of feelings. Sorry there is nothing useful in this but I just needed to let it out. Watch for my next post where I tell you all about the morning I hit a turkey and one night where I accidentally lit my hair on fire.

The dogs in case you don’t look at my first post but still want to see them because why wouldn’t you , they are super adorable.
